Have you ever wondered who designed the glass facade of MVRDV’s Markthal in Rotterdam, or who constructed our very own model hall at the Architecture faculty? BouT has the answer: Octatube. We are excited to announce that we have arranged an excursion to visit them on the 17th of March 2016, at their office in Rotterdamsweg 200 – 15 minutes walk from our faculty.
We are expected to be there at 10:30, and it will be done at 12:30.
Their office is located at Rotterdamseweg 200, but we will set a meeting point at 10:15 at the WEST entrance of TU Delft Bouwkunde Building for ones that want to go together with us.
Found 1978, Octatube is one of the most innovative Dutch design company – designing and building more than 150 projects throughout their history. They are pushing the boundaries in emphasizing steel and glass construction in their works, which can be seen in MVRDV’s Markthal, Kisho Kurokawa’s and Hans van Heeswijk’s Van Gogh Museum, or the Mauritshuis. Not only glass and steel, they also involved in the construction using innovative material, such as cardboard-based bridge – Paper Bridge – by Shigeru Ban.
If you are interested to witness their innovative process, then there is no other excuse to not joining this excursion! We are opening 30 slots for this excursion, which can be accessed by clicking the Register button below.
